ABOUT ME

I am a qualified Level 3 Mat Based Pilates Instructor based in Frome. In addition to small equipment, I have also undertaken additional specialist training to be able to teach pregnant and postnatal women, and am still furthering my knowledge in this area through Sarah Duvall's amazing course to become a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES). In addition to this, as a result of my passion for the aerial arts, I trained with Air Control Pilates in 2019 to become a qualified Aerial Pilates teacher (Pilates in a hammock!).

 

I have been practicing Pilates on and off for over 10 years. Having grown up doing a lot of dancing, most of the conditioning work was Pilates-inspired. I rediscovered Pilates a few years ago to regain strength in my upper body following a shoulder operation in 2006, and more recently to help with knee and hip pain from doing a lot of running and cycling. Pilates is amazing for rehabilitation as well as to enhance performance in a variety of sports, and generally to improve posture, core strength and lengthen the body. I have also hugely benefited from Pilates as an excellent way to maintain strength and feel good in my body while pregnant and then recover from 2 totally different births - both of my babies have accompanied me in my Mum and Baby Pilates classes!

  • Future Fit Training Pilates with Common Orthopaedic Conditions

  • Future Fit Pilates with Small Equipment

  • Level 3 Award in Designing Pre- and Post-natal Exercise Programmes

  • Air Control Pilates Teacher
